Roman Orlov was born and raised in Moscow. He received culinary training at College of Service Industries No. 10, and later graduated from the Moscow Institute of State and Municipal Management with a degree in management. Since 2003, he has worked in restaurants in Moscow, including Mario, Sunrize, and Sky Lounge. In 2007, he became a sous chef at the restaurant Simple Pleasures. Later, in 2011, he headed the kitchen of the seafood restaurant Clumba Club (Tasty Project), and subsequently worked at Shekhtel and Siren. He completed internships at Danish restaurants Studio (1 Michelin star), A|O|C (2 Michelin stars), and the wine bar Frank. He has traveled to various countries around the world, including Sweden, Denmark, Ireland, France, and Spain, where he drew inspiration from the cuisines of top restaurants such as Frantzen, Noma, Alchemist, Paul Bocuse, and El Celler de Can Roca. He has worked in collaboration with the French chef Santiago Torrijos. From 2018 to 2024, he led the kitchens of the I Like Wine restaurants on Pokrovka and Khamovniki as a concept chef. He collaborated with chefs Dmitry Parikov and Vladimir Devyatkin to develop the "Arctic" festival menu for six seasons, participated in the preparation of seasonal menus for all of Vladimir Perelman's restaurant projects, and hosted wine dinners at the I Like Wine restaurants, including with guest chefs Tobin Excel, Santiago Lastra, and Gome Galili. In 2023, he was invited by the Margarita&Oyster restaurant (Lisbon) to develop a set menu in collaboration with Dmitry Parikov, and later, a menu for Vladimir Perelman's project, Bisque. He participated in the opening and menu development for the "Sыrodelnya" restaurant in the city of Suzdal. He currently cooks at Dmitry Parikov's gastronomic project "Na Dache" and is the head chef of the restaurant "TEMU."
