About
Born on October 13, 1979, Christian Lorencini grew up in the city of Siena, in the region of Tuscany.
Christian Lorencini's interest in the culinary world awakened when he was 15 years old. At that time, every day after school, he helped his father in their small family restaurant in Tuscany, located between the cities of Siena and Montalcino. His father passed on many secrets of traditional Tuscan cuisine to him, from the dressing for the simplest salad to making homemade pasta and preparing a genuine Florentine steak. After graduating from college, Christian began working, spending summers as a kitchen assistant in some of the best restaurants on the Amalfi Coast and in Venice (where the menus primarily featured seafood), and winters, for two seasons, at the 5-star hotel "Cristallo" in Cortina d'Ampezzo, as a chef de partie in the hot kitchen. This experience enriched his professional skills and gave him more knowledge of classic and regional Italian cuisine. Upon returning to Siena, Christian became the head chef at one of the most popular restaurants in the city. He was 22 years old. Two years later, Christian was sent abroad to manage the kitchen of a newly opening restaurant in England, in the city of Swindon, where he created a menu based on his gastronomic philosophy, which emphasizes respect for the natural qualities of the ingredients and a focus on absolute freshness. After a few months, he met someone who opened the door for him to the restaurant business in Russia. In Moscow, after two years working as a private chef on the outskirts of the capital and opening kitchens in several establishments in the city center, Christian became the head chef at the legendary restaurant "Mario" on Presnenskaya Street. There, he cooked not only for Moscow's celebrities but also for world-renowned stars such as Naomi Campbell, Eros Ramazzotti, Mick Jagger, Sting, Paris Hilton, and others. In the summer of 2011, Ginza Project invited him to a new ambitious project – the Italian restaurant "BONO," located on the 29th floor of the "Ukraine" hotel. The menu here is based exclusively on top-quality fresh ingredients and homemade pasta, with no frozen products, while respecting Italian traditions and the "art of good food." And so, three years later, in July 2013, a dream came true – Chef Lorencini headed his own restaurant, "Christian."
