About
In May 2015, David graduated from high school and in September of the same year, he enrolled at university to study law, specializing in environmental law. In 2018, he moved to the United States, where he lived in New York. It was there, on the Atlantic coast in the Brighton Beach area, that he first found himself in a kitchen, beginning his culinary journey as a kitchen assistant in a local restaurant. In 2021, David got a job in the kitchen of one of the best restaurants in his hometown of Izhevsk, working in the hot kitchen section. This experience became a starting point for his further professional development. In 2022, he moved to Moscow and joined the team of the Selfie restaurant, which is recognized in international gastronomic rankings. From 2022 to 2025, David actively participated in the culinary life of the country, hosting dozens of dinners across Russia, as well as conducting a masterclass at the Istanbul restaurant Neolokal, which holds a Michelin star. In 2023, he worked alongside renowned chefs such as Anton Kovalkov and Anatoly Kazakov. In 2024, David became the brand chef of the ASKO company. Later that same year, he returned to the Selfie restaurant as the sous chef. In August 2025, David Knyazev became the head chef of the enogastronomic project SEPTA, further solidifying his position among the prominent figures of the new Russian culinary scene. At SEPTA, David will continue to develop his unique style, while respecting the path already taken by the restaurant. A special menu will be offered to guests to introduce them to the new head chef.
