Russian chef, culinary expert, and proponent of molecular gastronomy. He began his career as a cook in 1991, working at the "Vienna" cafe in the capital. Dmitry Shurshakov is one of the most experienced figures in the restaurant industry, having been at the helm of many significant projects. In 2005, he became the head chef of the Grand Cru wine bars. In 2008, he took over as the head chef of the "Chaika" restaurant, which three years later was ranked among the top 100 restaurants in the world according to the prestigious The S.Pellegrino World's Best Restaurants ranking. In 2015, he became a co-owner and head chef of the "Muesli" restaurant. A year prior, in 2014, Dmitry Shurshakov and Alexander Kan launched a new gastrobar called "We're Not Going Anywhere" and won the "Trend of the Year" award, but fate separated them for a decade. However, in 2024, the chef and mixologist are working together again – at Joi Izakaya. In 2024, Dmitry received an award in the "Chef of the Year" category at the "Best in the Industry 2024. Palme d'Or of the Restaurant Business" awards.
