About
Akbar Kodirov was born in Central Asia, in Tajikistan. From a young age, he worked in a bakery, where within just three years, he became the head baker. This marked the beginning of his career and the first significant step towards a career in high-end gastronomy.
At the age of 17, Akbar moved to Russia with his family, where he received specialized education and continued his career path. His dream of becoming a chef came true when Akbar moved to Vladivostok and built a kitchen from scratch for a seafood restaurant. Two years later, he became the head chef of the gastropub Gusto, one of the most popular establishments in the Primorsky Krai region. His next venture was the restaurant "Amur," which, during his tenure, experienced significant growth, including being ranked among the top 10 restaurants, and Akbar himself was recognized as one of the top 5 chefs by the WHERETOEAT awards (Far East).
Despite his successes, Akbar continues to strive for self-improvement and learn from the best. Among his mentors is Kirill Ivanov, a student of the renowned Alain Ducasse, a highly acclaimed chef with three Michelin stars. It was in Ivanov's kitchen that Akbar was introduced to modern gastronomy, which focuses on local ingredients. Another notable achievement in his resume is his time at Hamlet+Jacks, a St. Petersburg gastropub owned by Evgeny Vikentiev, the youngest Michelin-starred chef in Russia.
Akbar Kodirov, true to his nature, set himself another challenge in 2023: he took on the role of head chef at SIXTY, the highest restaurant in Europe, where he presented a revamped menu – a beautiful illustration of his talent and exceptional professionalism.
