About

Shortlist Bar is a place where drinks, books, and interests converge. Under one roof, in a historic space, a bar with a unique cocktail menu and a bookstore coexist. The atmosphere of the bar is created by the centuries-old walls, slightly worn but carefully restored furniture that contrasts with the grayness of Moscow, solid wooden shelves, and touches of ascetic Scandinavian design: the overall style is mid-century modern. Here, a Negroni features bitter added to vermouth and gin, and a Sour is defined not by bourbon and lemon juice, but by egg white. Many of the cocktails on the menu are inspired by literary figures and their characters. Shortlist offers tartare, croquettes with Parmesan, steak, beef cheeks, tomato soup with chorizo, and other dishes created by chef Maxim Letunov. Maxim holds a degree in tax law, but immediately after graduating from university, he decided to dedicate his life to gastronomy. Now, he is a renowned chef who understands not only how to work with ingredients but also how to manage a kitchen's finances. The bookstore features three hundred of the most relevant books of the modern era, curated by literary critic Polina Ryzhova. For regular patrons, Shortlist hosts meetings with prominent figures in the literary world. They also organize meetings for literary clubs, where hidden aspects of classic works are discussed, theatrical readings are held, and presentations of future bestsellers take place.
