"Segun": A Pan-Asian Restaurant Conquering Siberia
"Segun" is one of the most well-known pan-Asian restaurants in the Krasnoyarsk region. In medieval Japan, the shoguns were the supreme rulers and chief protectors of the country, so the name "Segun" was chosen deliberately. The restaurateurs, Maxim and Elena Antipov, initially aimed to create the leading pan-Asian restaurant in the region, and they succeeded! The menu features the most popular dishes from Japan, Thailand, Korea, China, and Vietnam. Experienced chefs from Moscow and Asia were brought in to create it. The variety is impressive: over thirty types of sushi, pressed Osaka-style "oshi zushi," and increasingly popular hand rolls, noodles and rice stir-fried in a wok, as well as dishes that are still relatively rare on the Russian market, such as the Korean "Bibimbap," Vietnamese beef "Bo Luc Lac," and Vietnamese "Bun Cha," which looks like a thick soup but is actually a warm salad. For soup lovers, there are various rich ramen, pho, and the internationally popular Tom Yum soup, known for its spiciness. Only the highest quality ingredients are used in the preparation of the dishes. For example, the rice for the sushi is specially imported from China, and the sauce and rice vinegar are made in-house according to a proprietary recipe. The flagship "Segun" restaurant is located in Krasnoyarsk at 78th Volunteer Brigade Street, building 23. The space embodies the philosophical principle of Yin and Yang and is divided into two sections. The bright section symbolizes tropical Asia: soft colors, airiness, natural materials, lush greenery, bamboo stalks, an image of a mountain on one of the walls, and waterfalls behind glass create a feeling of warmth, comfort, and lightness. The second section represents modern Asia, more daring and progressive: here you'll find subdued lighting, stone textures, stainless steel, an open fire, bright neon lights, and graffiti, reproduced by artists from photographs of real streets in Tokyo and Seoul. It's convenient to enjoy the dishes and cocktails not only at a table but also at a low Tokyo-style bar. There's also a steam fireplace that creates a meditative atmosphere with its flickering flames. Everyone feels comfortable at "Segun"! Families with children and parents on weekends, young people who follow trends, and business professionals for business lunches and friendly gatherings all find a place here. In addition, "Segun" has a separate room for traditional tea ceremonies, where a tea master conducts them by prior reservation. For young visitors, there is a special menu and a free two-story play area: an animator works with the little ones on the first floor, while the second floor features Playstation consoles and a soft play area for teenagers.
