About

Restaurants and clubs have long evolved beyond their original purpose of simply providing food and entertainment. In the age of the internet and the ability to work remotely, these establishments have become "second homes" for many. People can spend almost the entire day here, organizing meetings, socializing, working, watching movies, and listening to music. Visiting restaurants and cafes has become a habit for a new generation, and a passion for gastronomy has become a hobby alongside music, film, and sports.

The concept of a "home" was the foundation for the design and interior of Kuznya House. While preserving the historical layout, the space was divided into three areas: a ballroom with a bar, a stage, and seating that can be cleared for musical performances; a chef's kitchen where cooking classes will be held; and a tea room with large sofas and bookshelves. In the summer, a large terrace with views of the island's garden is open. The elements and materials are inspired by photographic archives of interiors from St. Petersburg apartments in the early 20th century: elegant wooden panels, massive lacquered cabinets and buffets, false fireplaces that conceal the ventilation system, comfortable sofas with Pavlovo-Posad patterns, velvet curtains, ottomans, armchairs, vintage brass lighting fixtures, and porcelain from the Imperial Porcelain Factory.

Particular attention was paid to the acoustic and lighting design. For example, a mosaic made of white tiles and 147 analog light bulbs was installed on the historical arches of the ballroom, and these lights are programmed to work in sync with the rest of the lighting for the evening program. The sound speakers and subwoofers were custom-designed. The Kuznya House kitchen is as eclectic as the interior and the clientele of the project.

The kitchen is managed by Chef Ruslan Zakirov. He prepares simple and healthy dishes using local vegetables, regularly adding new items based on the season. The "musical and intellectual" side of the establishment is overseen by Kirill Sergeev, known as Kito Jempere, and a member of the eponymous musical collective. In the evenings, jazz musicians perform, and on weekend nights, the restaurant transforms into a club featuring contemporary dance music.
