KOOK

About

Korean cuisine and culture in a modern urban bistro setting, featuring vibrant symbols of contemporary South Korean trends, with a menu showcasing popular dishes from food blogs, street food stalls, and Seoul's century-old markets.

The project was launched by Mikhail and Denis Levchenko, the founders of the J'PAN chain, the "Heroes" bar, Touch of Matcha, and RA'MEN, in partnership with Alexander Sysoev, the creator of a popular Telegram channel and the founder of Russia's largest restaurant festival. The owners have transformed the concept of traditional Korean restaurants into a modern and accessible format for a casual urban bistro. They have created a multicultural project that combines the most iconic elements of contemporary South Korean culture, from music, film, and animation to technological innovations. The bistro's playlist features viral K-pop mixes, while the walls are adorned with artwork by Korean illustrators and neon sticker art. The KOOK waitstaff greet guests in eclectic outfits inspired by Korean streetwear. And all the dishes on the menu are hits from popular food blogs, trendy street food stalls, and Seoul's historic markets. A K-shop will soon open in the bistro, offering light sticks, Korean sweets, spices, clothing, and sticker packs, as well as a lineup of events including K-dance workshops, drama screenings, Korean swap meets, and pop-up shops featuring K-brands.
