Ekaterina was born on May 21, 1985. In 2008, she graduated from the Russian State University of Tourism and Service with a degree in "Financial Management of Organizations." Until 2017, Ekaterina worked in the aviation industry, but she realized that she wanted to pursue a career as a sommelier. In 2017, she started working as an assistant sommelier at the Rappoport Restaurants group. There, she learned the ropes of her new profession: recommending wines, presenting wines, decanting them, and creating wine lists. She also gained experience in interacting with suppliers and wine trading companies. From 2019 to 2020, she worked as a sommelier in Moscow restaurants such as Bottarga and Sartoria Lamberti. From 2020 to 2021, she held the position of head sommelier at the Simach restaurant in Nedalny. Since 2022, she has been the head sommelier of the WineSkills enogastronomy project. Professional development: 2018: Wine & Spirit Education Trust Level 3 (WSET3) WineState, WSET3 2017: Professional Sommelier Training Course WinePeople, Sommelier Ekaterina says that for her, wine is more than just an art; it's a whole universe! "If someone asks me which wine I would take with me to a deserted island, I wouldn't hesitate for a second: 'Champagne!'" - says Ekaterina. The head sommelier believes that she is lucky because her work is her main hobby, passion, and a great source of enjoyment. However, she tries to find time for reading (she prefers to read physical books, as it's a special ritual for her), spending time in nature (Ekaterina loves to enjoy the scents of the autumn forest after the rain), and creating culinary masterpieces in her own kitchen. Ekaterina loves to cook, and the topic of enogastronomy is what fascinates her the most these days.
