Vinkult

This independent project promotes Russian winemaking, offering over 30 wines by the glass, with food pairings available on the menu.

The project is located in an old salt cellar, part of the former Golitsyn estate, the founder of Russian winemaking. It's situated on Rozhdestvenskaya Street, the main gastronomic street in Nizhny Novgorod. The building's cellar has been completely renovated, and its vaulted arches and white-painted brickwork create a cozy atmosphere. The establishment features three rooms: a main hall, a more intimate fireplace room, and a communal table area. The entire interior is decorated in light colors, and sections of wine barrels are mounted on the ceiling of the entrance staircase.

Wine is the star of this gastropub, with a focus exclusively on Russian wines from various regions of the country. The wine list boasts over 900 bottles, and approximately 30 wines are available by the glass. This includes both familiar wines and rare selections from passionate winemakers.

The menu features comfort food: simple yet unique dishes. The emphasis is on appetizers and starters, all designed to complement the wine.

Weekly wine tastings are held, often led by the winemakers themselves, who frequently visit the wine bar with their latest vintages, or by brand ambassadors of Russian winemaking, or certified sommeliers. The tastings are often themed, focusing on specific grape varieties or styles, or on particular wineries such as Gussev, Uzunov, and Galitsky. A typical tasting consists of 5-6 pours, accompanied by light snacks.

During the summer months, a veranda is open, featuring sunset sets by local Nizhny Novgorod DJs.
