About

A fairytale space blending unique architecture, contemporary art, and innovative cuisine – located in the River Station building on the banks of the Yenisei River.

A legend comes to life in Krasnoyarsk! "SADKO," which opened in the 1950s in the River Station building, a landmark and the city's premier restaurant, is returning. SADKO by Berrywood Family is a modern dining experience with a new concept, but it maintains a connection to its history, original name, and location in a building of historical significance. This is another step for the Berrywood Family restaurant group, aimed at reviving the gastronomic history of Krasnoyarsk and Siberia.

SADKO is a fairytale space that combines unique architecture, contemporary art, and innovative cuisine. The fairytale unfolds in two worlds: the underwater and terrestrial realms, and this duality is reflected in the interior design, sound design, the team's attire, and the restaurant's cuisine. Sadko was a merchant, and merchants were the key players in cultural and gastronomic connections. The menu is closely linked to the activities of the main character and is based on carefully collecting various recipes and valuable products from different parts of the world, following the routes of merchants.

The SADKO menu draws inspiration from various geographical regions known for fish and seafood: Yenisei Siberia, the Far East, the Murmansk region, and distant lands – Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America. The head chef of SADKO is Mikhail Mikhailov, who has successfully managed "Bar Bulgakov" and the Georgian bistro "DZE." As part of the preparations for the restaurant's opening, Mikhailov, like Sadko, embarked on a journey – to Madrid for an internship at the renowned seafood restaurants A'Barra (1 Michelin star) and Bistronomica. The experience gained and current trends are reflected in the techniques and quality of the products, while the chef's philosophical approach is expressed in bold, explosive flavors and aesthetically pleasing presentations. In the underwater realm, you'll find ceviche of Yenisei muksun and crudo of dorada with Himalayan salt, grilled Moroccan octopus, and Sakhalin scallops with a butternut squash barbecue cream. There's also the famous "SADKO" dish – drunken sturgeon, but Mikhailov's version, with a white wine sauce and sturgeon caviar. In the terrestrial realm, there's Hakas beef tartare with feta cream and roast beef with a cod liver pate and roasted peppers, cacio e pepe, and dry-aged duck breast with root vegetables and port sauce. The desserts are a sweet kingdom.

Mikhail Mikhailov's innovative ideas are also reflected in the wine list. Historically, the first wine club in Krasnoyarsk operated in the original "SADKO," and, in keeping with this tradition, SADKO has assembled a wine list featuring gems from all over the world. Sommelier Lesya Soboleva has combined trends and classics, highlighting individual characteristics and immersing guests even deeper into the world of wine, showcasing its subtlety, originality, and beauty. The wine list currently features 180 sparkling and still wines, a diverse range of regions and styles, and partnerships with the best wine merchants in the country. The cocktails, created by head bartender Dmitry Trushin, are named and presented with references to fairytale and mythological characters, and to the images and heroes of the underwater and terrestrial realms: "SADKO," "Mermaid," "Hydra," "El Drago," and "Siren."

The design of the restaurant was created by the Left Design studio, a long-standing partner of Berrywood Family. SADKO is a harmony of the historical and the modern, the fairytale and the real. The restored architectural elements of the original "SADKO" – moldings, vaulted high ceilings, windows, and layout – are emphasized by a modern contrast – art objects and works by contemporary artists. The paintings of the underwater realm on the bas-reliefs and screens were created by the Krasnoyarsk artist Alexander Blyosyak. The uniforms for the team were designed by Dmitry Loginov and his brand Arsenicum, who reinterpreted the fairytale costumes from the "SADKO" universe, giving them a modern and functional look. The hostesses greet guests in dresses with flared sleeves, red boots, and stylized headbands. The waiters, bartenders, and managers wear a black waistcoat as a symbol of the elegant wardrobe of aristocrats of previous generations. SADKO – a legend comes to life.
