Oshi Izakaya

Oshi is a Pan-Asian restaurant in the izakaya style. The cuisine is by Glen Ballis: the freshest ingredients, "pure" flavors, and simple execution. The bar is managed by the Mendeleev team, and the music is curated by Dmitry Fomichev.

The restaurant's name is inspired by a Japanese legend in which the goddess Amaterasu gifted the first Japanese emperor with her ancient wisdom in the form of the game Oshi. It is believed that the game taught the emperor and his court to treat their power and influence with care. The izakaya format (Japanese for "sake shop") – a casual Japanese eatery for friends and family, with a wide selection of sake – has been chosen with meticulous attention to detail. The restaurant's musical atmosphere is carefully curated, with an open kitchen, a robata grill, a cocktail and wine list, and parties featuring Japanese musicians – all of which contribute to the OSHI Izakaya experience. The dishes on the menu, created by the beloved Australian chef Glen Ballis, adhere to three main criteria: the freshest ingredients, "pure" flavors, and simple execution. The menu is small, but a "special" section will be updated weekly, featuring exclusive seafood imported directly from Japan, Wagyu beef, and original interpretations of classic dishes. The bar is managed by the Mendeleev team, which will be reborn in its original location (Petrovka Street, 20) in September. Six cocktails, created exclusively for OSHI, are based on Japanese ingredients, and even classic cocktails have been reinterpreted to fit the concept, such as the YUZU Negroni. The cocktail and wine list includes 131 labels, including sake andumeshu, and a separate sake collection features 19 varieties. All coffee drinks are made with Japanese Mocha Blend beans. Dmitry Fomichev (L'atelier De Musique) is responsible for all musical aspects of the concept, including the background music, an "all-day" format, an online radio station that can be listened to at any time on the restaurant's website, the lineup, resident DJs, and parties.
