About
In the heart of the city, amidst the bustling streets and vibrant storefronts on Pokrovka, the "Night Witches" bar opened on October 31st, with a "ladies only" concept. Men are only allowed in for a million rubles.
The bar, which caused an incredible stir in society, angered men and delighted women. The new project caused a sensation, with accusations of sexism flying, but they were quickly refuted. The atmosphere of the bar is shrouded in mystery and magic. The interior resembles a witch's cottage – candles flicker in the dim light, and the walls are decorated with mystical paintings. A friendly tarot reader offers readings to all the ladies every Thursday after sunset, revealing their magical secrets "one-on-one." The Night Witches are hidden from the public and not easy to find at first glance. The bar is located behind a secret door on the minus first floor of the gastronomic space Viva x Adventura on Pokrovka. Friendly hostesses will guide you using the password "Witches." Viva x Adventura is a joint project of "DoubleB" and the production bureau "Supero. Marketing and HoReCa." It's a gathering place for city dwellers with a familiar and understandable lifestyle: a slightly rebellious interior, "Moscow-style" comfort food, late-night bohemian breakfasts with sparkling wine, its own bakery with fragrant pastries made using French technology, and lively parties on Pokrovka on weekends. The history of the bar is rooted in the legendary 46th Guards Night Bomber Aviation Regiment of World War II, which was composed entirely of female pilots. The spirit of these brave heroines inspired the creators of "Night Witches." These women performed incredible feats, soaring into the sky under the cover of night to deliver devastating blows to the enemy. At the opening, the witches presented unique cocktails with a wow presentation, created by bartenders Yevgeny Tyarenko, Sergei Maslov, Alexander Sobolev, and Nazakat Shikhaliyeva. Each cocktail is named after a legendary woman who changed the world and whose legacy remains in history: "Senora Soprano" – dedicated to Montserrat Caballé. The famous Spanish opera singer, with her magnificent soprano voice, is known for her strength, beauty, and wide range. This cocktail highlights the uniqueness of Montserrat's voice, and the ingredients are chosen to help maintain vocal cords in top condition: dried apricots (Onegin), rooibos bourbon, amaretto, palo santo, and a balanced flavor. "Orleans Maiden" – dedicated to Joan of Arc. The French national heroine, known for her courageous character, strong spirit, and fearless participation in the Hundred Years' War. This cocktail tells the story of a woman's true principles and aspirations, which are not extinguished by fire, like her legacy. The white color symbolizes the purity and innocence of Joan herself, and the taste inspires you to perform the most daring feats. It contains peach liqueur, gin, Martini Bianco, and peach calpis. "Sorbonne Star" – dedicated to Marie Curie. The first woman to receive a professorship at the Sorbonne, which was an incredible achievement in a time of unequal rights in science. Her work led to the development of new cancer treatments and a deeper understanding of the atomic structure. This cocktail, with its unique presentation, is for those who love to experiment, so that every "witch" in our bar can conduct her own small chemical experiment and feel the power of the great Marie Curie. It contains watermelon absolute, chem green, apple calpis, basil syrup, and a sour mix. "Forbidden Fruit" – dedicated to the first woman on Earth, Eve, who was tempted by the forbidden fruit and ate the apple from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The forbidden fruit led Eve to exile from Paradise. Since then, she has traditionally been considered guilty of the fall of humanity. This cocktail, with which everything begins, is as tempting and delicious as the forbidden apple. Sometimes, you can indulge, right? Don't worry, you won't be sent anywhere for it! It contains vermouth, mango, chem gold, and Campari. "Flower of the Empire" – dedicated to the majestic Empress Catherine II. A bright and influential figure who is known for her reign, including expanding the borders, reforms, and patronage. There were many rumors about Catherine's love life, and she always attracted the hearts of influential men. This cocktail is a symbol of the broad Russian soul and German discipline, royal charm, and feminine allure. It contains kvass, vodka, and strawberry. "First Flight" – dedicated to Lydia Zvereva, the first female pilot in Russia. She made her flight in 1911 and actively promoted the development of women's aviation. This cocktail is made in a familiar classic style, but with a touch of expressiveness, just like Lydia in her flights. It contains gin, liqueur, currants, and blackberries. "Self-Portrait Calo" – dedicated to Frida Kahlo. The Mexican artist is known for her unique style and self-portraits, which reflect her life, pain, and suffering. Frida used motifs of Mexican folklore, bright colors, symbols, and traditional imagery in her work. The most famous self-portrait of the artist is "Two Fridas," representing two different personalities in one person. A similar cocktail has been created, where the perfect balance is achieved by blending completely different ingredients: whiskey, liqueur, coffee, lemon, and sugar. "Pirate Queen" – dedicated to Zheng Shi, who commanded a vast fleet of over 300 ships and 30,000 sailors. Just imagine the fighting spirit of this woman. Why not let our girls transform into pirates for a while, raise the anchor, hoist the sails, and set off on a journey to discover new horizons? Immerse yourself in a sea of flavors with the first pirate, Lady Zheng. It contains pear raki, jasmine, lemon, and maraschino. "Bloody Queen" – dedicated to Anne Boleyn. One of the most famous women in English history, the second wife of King Henry VIII, who separated the Anglican Church from the Roman Catholic Church to marry Anne. Feel the femininity of the heroine and immerse yourself in a world of secrets and mysteries with a cocktail containing sambuca, passion fruit, vodka with lemon, and mango syrup. "Hiroshima Voice" – dedicated to Sasaki Sadako. A woman who became a symbol of the tragedy of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. She was only 2 years old when the bomb fell on the city. Sadako received a serious dose of radiation, and a few years later, she developed leukemia, "the atomic bomb disease," but she believed that if she made 1,000 paper cranes, she would recover. She managed to fold only 644 before her death in 1955. The story of Sasaki Sadako became a symbol of peace and a warning about the horrors of nuclear war. Hope and faith in a better future, combined with unwavering willpower, are what it takes to change the world. We just need Aperol, vodka, lychee calpis, and lemon with pistachios to change your taste, because you can enjoy this cocktail a thousand times. The "Night Witches" bar is open 4 days a week: from Thursday to Sunday, but you can always rent it out for a private event on any day. The parties at the witches will be accompanied by unobtrusive music until the last guest arrives, and then there will be upbeat hits that will lift the spirits of every queen! And for the most enthusiastic fans of live music, karaoke can be organized. This is the perfect place for a bachelorette party, a get-together with friends, and secret meetings without phones. It's a safe space where you can gather for cocktails, gossip, discuss your ex, and dance. There are only 25 comfortable seats, so you should hurry to join the exclusive club of witches and reserve your spot.
