Modern Russian Cuisine Restaurant and Experimental Bar
A restaurant and bar called "Nasledniki" (Heirs) has opened in St. Petersburg, on the Petrograd side. The project is not about nostalgia for "the good old days," but about our gastronomic, bar, and cultural heritage, which we are creating right now. IDEA: The project's author, Alexei Lansky (formerly of the restaurant "O"), combines modern Russian cuisine, an experimental bar, and cultural events into a single concept. In each of these areas, it is important to respect traditions, push boundaries, and create something new. "Nasledniki" develops the codes and meanings that shape our present and future. The team's goal is to create a cultural community on the Petrograd side, to exist in a shared rhythm, and to create a new legacy. New things happen when traditions and heritage from different eras, cultures, and genres are combined. This is reflected in the cuisine, the bar, the interior, and the graphic design. CUISINE: "Nasledniki" takes national ideas and familiar ingredients as a basis, but presents them in a new, original way. Modern Russian cuisine, created by chef Denis Denisov (formerly of "Skotny Dvor"), includes lazy dumplings with duck leg and mushrooms, pumpkin with smoked cottage cheese and kvass, cabbage steak with bacon and kvass sauce, baked potatoes with red caviar and onion sauce, trout with lemon sour cream, and cheesecake with white mushroom caramel. A key feature of the cuisine is the use of open fire, which is incorporated into almost every dish. The team designed a large grill, one of the largest in the city, measuring 2.5 x 2 meters. In the near future, the restaurant will offer early breakfasts starting at 8:00 AM and gastronomic lunch sets. BAR: The main experiment at the "Nasledniki" bar is a selection of cocktails-infused drinks developed by bartender Artur Frolov (creator of the Dikiy dry kvass brand). They can be enjoyed in three different ways: neat (as a shot), on the rocks with a large ice cube (long), or mixed with sparkling wine (spritz). Each option creates a unique drink; the base is the same, but the flavor profile varies. The cocktails are based on local ingredients, seasonal products, and the drinking traditions of old St. Petersburg. For easy navigation, the cocktail menu is divided into three sections: light and refreshing, bright and juicy, and strong and digestive. The drinks are arranged in order of increasing strength. The cocktails are named after combinations of ingredients that define the flavor and aroma. The cocktails are served with edible perfume made from herbs, flowers, or spices. The bar also offers light snacks to complement the cocktails: bread with red caviar, rice balls with cheese and truffles, smoked trout rillettes, and roast beef with apple jam. The wine selection at "Nasledniki" is carefully curated, featuring a diverse range of personal discoveries, new styles and producers, rare grape varieties, and excellent examples of Russian winemaking. The bar does not claim to be a wine bar, but strives to surprise and showcase something lesser-known and special. EVENTS: An important part of the "Nasledniki" restaurant and bar is the events that will take place here almost every day. "Nasledniki" will be a space for theatrical performances, concerts, art and science popularization lectures, and a meeting place for cultural clubs. On Fridays and Saturdays, we will dance to DJ sets until late at night. INTERIOR: "Nasledniki" is a multifaceted project. In the truest sense: on one side, there is a restaurant for a leisurely breakfast or a quiet evening with friends; on the other side, there is a bar, a place for fun and freedom, vinyl music, and dancing. Both spaces have their own entrance and a unique style. The restaurant's dining room is bright, understated, and full of subtle details, such as a curtain made of crystal beads or illustrations on the walls that create a hedonistic and slightly melancholic atmosphere. The bar is decorated in dark colors, with the main focus on the central bar counter. A projector displays images and videos that match the mood.
