From top executives to coffee enthusiasts, and simply those who can't live without a cup of black coffee, "Cherny" (Black) is a new destination on the specialty coffee map. It offers breakfast in collaboration with the popular "Sandwich, Bro" project, coffee and tea alternatives, classic cocktails like "Bellini" (but with 0% alcohol), and improved versions of popular "white" drinks, from cappuccinos to "raf" (a layered coffee drink). Here, they teach you about coffee beans, help you finally understand the difference between Kenyan and Ethiopian coffee, and will happily brew an Americano and simply chat, because coffee is about friendship and warmth. Although, there's also an online presence. "Cherny" delivers specialty coffee beans, ready-to-drink beverages, and healthy food to boost productivity. Everything is done with a concept in mind.
The development of the project is a journey from an idea to the status of coffee experts. Maria Sokolova and Nikita Vorobyov, who were still students, opened the first coffee shop in the "Krasnaya Roza" business district, inspired by the desire to find the right coffee and coffee expertise that is understandable even to novice coffee enthusiasts: "You can be a few minutes late, but missing your morning cup is like forgetting to wake up." Their love for coffee grew, but deepening their knowledge of beans, brewing methods, and understanding the concept of "specialty" proved to be a more challenging and time-consuming process. That's how "Cherny" was born – a manifesto for coffee lovers and a project for a quick immersion into the world of black coffee. Every guest here is a friend, and everyone at "Cherny" knows everything about coffee – from the moment the seedlings are planted and the coffee cherries are harvested to the brewing process and the first sip. The baristas are like your friendly coffee-loving acquaintance: five minutes of conversation, an hour of heartfelt talk, or simply a cup of your favorite drink "as usual" without unnecessary words – the choice is yours.
The gastronomic menu is the result of a collaboration with "Sandwich, Bro," a personal project by Vladimir Chistyakov, which is further executed in the kitchen by Nikolai Mirkin, the chef's apprentice. The focus is on healthy and functional food that doesn't require a long wait – this rhythm is dictated by the city, and the freshest ingredients are sourced from local farmers' markets. From there, it's all about "breakfast all day" and versatile toasts and sandwiches that can be enjoyed at any time.
Currently, the menu includes grilled avocado with a tartare of farm-fresh tomatoes, scrambled eggs with hummus and roasted peppers, a large green breakfast with scrambled eggs seasoned with paprika, avocado, broccoli in sweet chili sauce, and a topping of fresh herbs, four types of toast on sourdough bread (made with carefully selected flour), and a hybrid of a sandwich and a burger in various sizes, from a small "bite-sized" option to a full-sized "XL" option that will satisfy even the biggest appetites, featuring grilled meat, turkey, and hummus.
