Bistro Trompette
About
French street food with a touch of rebellious sophistication, gastronomy, and jazz with a Southern French flair.
The new Bistro Trompette restaurant on Tverskaya Street offers French street food with a rebellious twist. Located at 26/1 Tverskaya Street, Bistro Trompette is a new gastronomic project from the Mandy's Group, where Parisian aesthetics and the vibrant energy of Marseille come together, accompanied by gastronomy and jazz. Bistro Trompette is inspired by the image of Marseille – a bustling, hot, and dusty city in southern France, where people argue, laugh, and sample food directly from the vendors. The chef might wipe their hands on their apron, toss herbs with flair, and serve a dish that needs no description. Here, French street food is presented in a haute cuisine format, and the atmosphere is filled with a rebellious spirit: chicken is roasted on a spit with a wine-based sauce, guests debate Simone de Beauvoir over glasses of wine, and a trumpet provides the soundtrack.
Two chefs lead the kitchen: Jérome Pfeiffer, invited from France, and Andrey Zelenkov, the brand chef of Mandy's Group (Mandy's Apothecary, Caffé Mandy's, Osteria by Mandy's). Andrey Zelenkov is known for his ability to combine simplicity and boldness in his cooking. He has created gastronomic projects in both Moscow and Kazakhstan, following the principle of using local and seasonal ingredients, and always strives to bring innovation to classic dishes. He has worked on projects such as White Rabbit family, Steak it easy, and "Varvary" by Anatoly Kom.
Jérome grew up in southern France, where food was an integral part of life. Before becoming a chef, he studied fashion and worked in the fashion industry. Eventually, he returned to cooking, opening a pop-up restaurant called "La Grande Bouffe," recreating the spirit of southern French cuisine – simplicity, warmth, and conviviality. His style is based on fresh ingredients, with an emphasis on the aroma and aesthetics of the dishes.
The interior continues the theme of gastronomic freedom: the bright, daytime space with hints of the southern sun gives way to the intimate atmosphere of the evening bar. Airy lampshades, warm textiles, natural materials, vintage details, and soft lighting create the atmosphere of a Parisian apartment where guests are always welcome. The architecture of the room creates a sense of informality, a playful flirtation with classicism, and attention to detail: each chair is custom-made, and the wine rack is a work of art. The interior was designed by the London-based studio Atelier Minka, led by Alina Voronova – a design bureau known for its keen sense of space and attention to tactile and cultural layers in the interior.
Wine at Bistro Trompette is not just an accompaniment, but a star in its own right. The wine list focuses on French regions: Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, the Loire Valley, the Rhône Valley, and Provence. Many of the wines are from exclusive selections: rare vintages from niche producers that are rarely found in everyday life. There is a wide selection of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as a bold and avant-garde selection of natural wines, including Pétillant Naturel and vintage champagne such as Champagne Sylvie Moreau Edition No. 11 2004. The wine list is divided into three sections: Smart Buy – wines priced up to 15,000 rubles (Grüger Veltliner, Riesling, Chianti, Malbec); Natural – natural, living, and non-standardized wines; and Fine Wine – focusing on classics, primarily from the Burgundy region. There are 15 wines by the glass, ranging from familiar to truly rare, for those who enjoy exploring.
Vasily Zhelyov, the award-winning "Best Bartender" according to "Palm Branch," is in charge of the cocktails. His portfolio includes dozens of bar projects in Russia and abroad, including Rex, Duхless Bar, Kitayskaya Gramota, Flava, Community, Share Bistro, Touch Moscow, and Asiatique. Vasily focuses on local ingredients and prefers handmade products over pre-made syrups and mixes.
Tverskaya Street 26/1 is the address for the discerning Moscow crowd – those who are in the know but don't flaunt it, who know the designer's name, who debate films as if they were directing their own, and who order wine without looking at the menu. At Trompette, they don't ask "What's the reservation under?" If you're here, you're already part of the group.
