À propos
Since 1979, Sankt Benedikt in Aachen has been an established part of North Rhine-Westphalia's MICHELIN-starred fine dining scene. The Kreus family-run restaurant, located in a listed building in the historical centre of the town of Kornelimünster, is exceptionally inviting in many respects: a tasteful interior in a minimalist and elegant modern style, pleasant service and Maximilian Kreus's classically inspired cuisine, which he gives a contemporary spin. Original ideas, excellent ingredients and superb technique shape his dishes – and that also goes for the sauces, which are a delight. In the evening and on Sat lunchtime, the chef-patron prepares two versions of the five- to seven-course "Gourmetmenü" – one vegetarian, one with meat/fish – and water is included in the price. On Tue-Sat, their "Bistro Lunch" comes in the form of a three-course set menu. Headed up by Karin Weißer, the front-of-house team is exceptionally friendly and attentive; expert advice regarding the wines is readily available – exclusively labels from German wine producers are recommended. In summer, a charming terrace in front of the building gives onto the square, Benediktusplatz.
