Bright, modish and hugely enjoyable, Elsa is a spot-on bistro driven by the passion of its team. Located on Fitzrovia’s ever-popular Charlotte Street, it’s a lovely neighbourhood restaurant that just so happens to be in the heart of the city. Sit in the narrow front area if you like to be on-view, or the spacious, more peaceful room to the rear. The cooking is stripped-back but full of flavour, with an Alsatian backbone to the menu. Look out for the seasonal terrine and, when available, the baeckeoffe to share. Owner Solynka Dumas leads the warm, chatty service which provides genuine hospitality.
