About

SUMOSAN is a chain of restaurants and sushi bars that has expanded beyond Russia to include locations in Germany, the United Kingdom, Monaco, the UAE, and Montenegro. Today, SUMOSAN is a family-run business. Alexander Volkov's daughters, Zhanina and Marina, have continued his legacy. Boukher Belkhit remains the head chef for all SUMOSAN projects. Thanks to his unique approach to combining ingredients and his extensive experience working with Japanese chefs, SUMOSAN is considered one of the best Japanese restaurants in Moscow and the world. In 1997, restaurateur Alexander Volkov opened his first sushi bar, Sakao, in the "Slavyanskaya" hotel in Moscow. After two and a half years, it transformed into a full-fledged restaurant, SUMOSAN, which quickly became even more popular than its predecessor. Volkov was the first to bring foreign chefs to Moscow, paving the way for the expansion of Japanese cuisine in the city. Now, SUMOSAN is a chain of restaurants and sushi bars with locations not only in Russia but also in Germany, the United Kingdom, Monaco, the UAE, and Montenegro. All dishes in the restaurant are prepared using only the freshest ingredients and are served with respect for Japanese traditions. The menu features both classic dishes, such as shrimp sashimi, smoked eel sushi, and tuna rolls, as well as more innovative options, like a dorade and mushroom roll with truffle oil or a spicy octopus with a caper sauce. For those who prefer meat to fish and seafood, there are also beef medallions with a delicate sweet potato and celery puree, and a juicy chicken dish in ginger sauce. And for vegetarians, there's marinated tofu with salad leaves in a citrus sauce, and a selection of nutritious vegetables cooked on a teppan grill. The restaurant's interior creates a truly Japanese atmosphere. SUMOSAN MOSCOW is located on the first floor of the "Radisson Slavyanskaya" hotel and has three rooms. One of the rooms features a teppan grill, where the chefs put on a show while cooking. The open dining room has an aquarium with live Kamchatka crabs, which can be prepared to order. In the center of the main room, there's a miniature pond with fish, reflecting the best of Japanese harmony and tranquility. The restaurant also offers a delivery service, with the ability to deliver dishes not only to Moscow and the surrounding Moscow region, but also to almost any destination, on a private basis. Residents of the Novaya Riga and Rublevo-Uspenskoe districts can receive their orders in as little as an hour, as one of SUMOSAN's branches is located in that area of the Moscow region. SUMOSAN MOSCOW also offers catering and in-flight catering services, serving private jets and business aviation. This service can be ordered directly from the SUMOSAN restaurant or through ground handling services.
