Cornelia Fischer, who heads up the kitchen at the fine dining restaurant of the splendid Althoff Seehotel Überfahrt, is by no means a rookie when it comes to running a kitchen. Most recently head chef at Zur Schwane in Volkach, she is now showcasing her contemporary take on classic cuisine here at Überfahrt. Excellent ingredients go into the two four-course set menus, one of which is vegetarian. The fresh, tenderly cooked Breton langoustine with delicious braised fennel and a classic shellfish and orange sauce is one outstanding example. Additional dishes can be swapped in or out to tailor your meal, or you can dine à la carte. The food is complemented by a wonderfully curated international wine list. The sleek and stylish interior design is also appealing, and service is provided by an excellent and pleasingly laid-back team. Tip: Book the Chef's Table and enjoy a four-course set menu served in the kitchen every first Thursday evening of the month.
