About

"Ogrodniki" is a city-based restaurant and garden, a project by Mark Lapin. It showcases the cuisine of different regions of Russia. Here, they prepare traditional dishes like borscht, bake pies, and make herbal infusions.

Located at 22 Institutsky Prospekt, in a fully restored estate built in 1911 for engineer M.I. Danilevsky, "Ogrodniki" is a place where the feeling of a country estate comes to life in the heart of the city. "Ogrodniki" is for those who appreciate seasonality, simplicity, warmth, and freshness. It's for those who love meals with the satisfying crunch of cucumbers, the aroma of baked pumpkin, and herbal tea after the rain. It's for those who are drawn to fresh herbs and enjoy food prepared with care.

This is a project dedicated to the seasonal cuisine of the regions of Russia, featuring generous pastries and herbal infusions. Here, they make authentic borscht and other soups, homemade pickles and jams, and bake rye bread and pies, just like in childhood summers spent at the dacha – but now, it's all in the city center.

The menu features classic Russian dishes and recipes collected by chef Konstantin Kolosov and his team during their culinary travels across the country: muksun fish soup, Murmansk flounder, Amur dumplings, Kerch scallops, monastery-style soup, and more.

The signature dessert, created by pastry chef Anastasia Toloknova, is a Gzhel-style gingerbread cookie with sea buckthorn and a cream made from clotted milk – it aims to become a culinary symbol of "Ogrodniki."

More than just a restaurant, it's a city dacha. "Ogrodniki" is located in a restored estate from 1911, where the atmosphere has been carefully preserved, but with the addition of a tiled stove (a dominant feature of one of the rooms), floor-to-ceiling windows for natural light, and a kitchen equipped with the latest technology.

The interior evokes the aesthetics of an old Russian estate: lots of wood and vintage items, soft natural light, boxes of fresh herbs, embroidered tablecloths, and custom-made tableware with a rural design.

The bar menu is another journey through Russia. It features the best of what has happened in Russian winemaking over the past 5 years: wines from the Krasnodar region and Crimea, handcrafted infusions and distillates, childhood-favorite lemonades (duchesse, burattino, citro), and seasonal herbal teas from the Altai and Caucasus regions.
