Mendeleev. Bar & Music

Not just a new chapter in the legendary Mendeleev bar, but a complete reimagining, retaining only the name and some of the core elements – cocktails, mixology, atmosphere, and camaraderie.

The GUYS team, a group specializing in restaurant management and responsible for opening OSHI Izakaya on Patricks Street, is behind the project. All members of the team have already proven themselves as top managers in leading restaurant groups. The brand name includes a descriptor with two parts. The first part, "Bar," is overseen by Alexander Glazunov and Kostya Plesovskikh. Sasha is directly involved in the previous project, developing it, working behind the bar, and is responsible for "the magic of the past." He is also a favorite among top Russian influencers, has worked as a head bartender at "Fonoteca Listening Bar," and is a global ambassador for the premium brands of the Simple company. Kostya, a legend in Russian mixology, co-owner of "Chainaya. Tea & Cocktails" and the Laowai bar, has made a significant contribution to Russia's drinking culture. The menu of the first signature cocktails includes 13 items. The drinks combine symbols of two empires – East and West – as well as history and mythology. Each cocktail is a bridge between the past and the present. Classic cocktails and their variations will also be featured – currently, there are 31 drinks on the menu. The project includes guest shifts by leading bartenders from around the world, and on Wednesdays, there will be a chef's table with complex mixology and concepts. The second part of the descriptor, "Music," is equally important. During the week, live jazz and soul music is played, while on Fridays and Saturdays, it's house and techno. The bar itself, as well as a separate "Dance room" behind a velvet curtain, will be a venue for sets by well-known DJs and events. In 2025, a large-scale series of international star appearances is planned, along with the launch of a dedicated radio show, with broadcasts coming directly from the bar. At first glance, the interior has hardly changed and retains the atmosphere of the brick vaults of the imperial printing house, but it has undergone numerous updates: hand-painted walls and ceilings in all rooms with hidden meanings, niches with art objects, a restored bar counter, illuminated onyx, a screen with artificial intelligence, and improved space ergonomics – all of which the team has been working on for nearly a year and a half. Access to this space is now through the full-fledged Japanese restaurant OSHI Izakaya (emperor), which can be visited separately, rather than through the small noodle shop. Mendeleev. Bar & Music has not only preserved its previous secrets but has also acquired new ones.
