Garda
About
Garda is a new Italian restaurant dedicated to the cuisine of the Apennine Peninsula. Chef Roman Vasiliev (of Assunta Madre) offers guests a taste of traditional Italian dishes.
Garda is the latest project from a restaurant group that has previously launched successful ventures such as Kadrile, Tkemali, Coba, and Cape, all focused on different cuisines. Chef Roman Vasiliev is an expert in Italian gastronomy. He lived and worked in Calabria and Rome for 14 years, where he worked in restaurants like Roma Beer Company and Ristorante Pierluigi. He also served as the sous chef at Assunta Madre in Moscow, and recently returned from a training period at a trattoria in Como, bringing his expertise to Garda on Petrovka Street in Moscow, offering only the most reliable and delicious dishes.
Every word on the menu evokes familiar and beloved flavors, and the recipes are meticulously crafted. The menu itself reads like a song. Dishes like Prosciutto di Parma served with a selection of Italian cured meats (2500 rubles), Ramiero peppers with anchovies (680 rubles), vitello tonnato with arugula and capers (750 rubles), eggplant alla parmigiana (780 rubles), spaghetti aglio e olio with chili flakes (550 rubles), spaghetti carbonara (900 rubles), grilled mixed seafood (3300 rubles), Milanese osso buco with saffron risotto (2450 rubles), and Sicilian cannoli (230 rubles each) – the descriptions alone transform the words into appetizing images that make you want to order them immediately. Don't deny yourself! The flavors at Garda are perfectly balanced, the portions are generous, and the average bill is no more than 3000 rubles. Pasta is made fresh in the restaurant's kitchen, pizza is baked in a wood-fired oven, and cheeses, cured meats, and truffles are imported directly from Italy.
Sommelier Vladislav Gaikin is responsible for the wine selection. The wine list features 20 wine regions of Italy, as well as a selection of excellent white, red, and orange wines from other countries of the Old and New Worlds. There are stylish options available by the glass, and a substantial selection of magnum bottles (1.5 and 3 liters) for larger groups. Many of the wines are marked with the Coravin symbol, which means that you can request to open a special bottle even for just a few glasses, as the wine can be preserved using a special technology. For example, you can pair the delicate octopus served on a bed of Jerusalem artichoke with black truffle (1970 rubles) with a top-quality Italian Soave Classico Otto Pra, or the confit duck leg served with an orange port sauce (1080 rubles) with a super-juicy Tuscan Mongrana Agricola from the legendary Querciabella estate, and the price per glass will not exceed 1000 rubles.
The two-story space was designed by the Krivtsova&Redina studio. The restaurant is filled with light and air, featuring large display windows, high ceilings, and luxurious chandeliers. The space is light and elegant – the perfect backdrop for an impeccable Italian lunch in the heart of Moscow.
