About

A chef-driven bistro in the location of a 19th-century paint factory.

LAC bistrot, created by Valery Chigarnov, is located in the LUCKY residential complex on Presnya. The project's name references the French word "lac," meaning "lake," evoking images of a calm surface, depth, and reflection. Another inspiration for the name comes from the history of the location: in the 19th century, it was the site of a paint factory owned by the Mamontov brothers. "This place is about balance and texture – in the food, in the sound, in the space. It's about a flavor you want to return to," says Valery Chigarnov, the project's creator. The head chef of LAC bistrot has extensive experience: he is a graduate of the SWISSAM academy and has completed internships in the United States, including at the restaurants Betony (New York) and Manresa (Los Gatos, California). In Russia, he has worked on several notable Moscow projects, including L.E.S. (Michelin Guide 2023), Beluga, Krasota, Zhirik, and 4rest. The design is by the DBA-GROUP team, an architecture and design studio led by Vladislav Andreev.
