About

Elegant Asian food stalls at the markets, where the main specialty of the place – fragrant Thai curries (and more) – is prepared in huge woks.

The massive 50-liter woks, with their fragrant steam rising from them, immediately catch the eye as soon as you turn left from the entrance to the food hall. They contain the cafe's signature dishes: Thai curries. The specific flavor of each Thai curry is determined by a blend of different spices and peppers. The natural combination of spicy seasonings, the creaminess of coconut milk, and a hint of sweetness make curry one of the most beloved and widely popular Thai dishes around the world. At "Indochina," you can try four different varieties served with steamed rice. The green curry, a classic dish from northern Thailand, is prepared with chicken (380 rubles). The spicier red curry features duck and the slightly sweet fruit, lychee (560 rubles). The yellow curry is made with salmon (450 rubles), while the Massaman curry, rich in the aromatic flavors of cardamom, anise, cinnamon, and cloves, is prepared with juicy, marbled beef ribs (580 rubles). In addition to curries, you can also try Pad Thai noodles with shrimp and chicken (550 rubles) and Singapore-style glass noodles (420 rubles), Tom Yum soup with coconut milk and shrimp (420 rubles), and Laksa with seafood (540 rubles). You can also enjoy wontons with shrimp in a spicy sauce (430 rubles) or fried dumplings with chicken (240 rubles). For those who appreciate authentic cuisine, there's a salad of pickled lotus root in the Malaysian style (290 rubles) and Thai rice with pineapple and shrimp (340 rubles). The beef with black beans (580 rubles) and the chicken in pepper sauce (480 rubles) are particularly noteworthy. Everything is prepared with expertise: the head chef of the stall is the Chinese chef, Xu Lei (Chinese Expertise).

"Indochina" refers to the peninsula in Southeast Asia. It includes Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar. This region is recognized as a source of some of the most interesting culinary techniques, exotic recipes, and unusual spices and sauces in the world. Travelers fondly remember the atmosphere of the night markets of Indochina: the vibrant crowds of vendors and customers, the smoke, the fire, the enticing aromas, the unfamiliar food, revealing unexpected facets of cuisine. It's a lively feast, a true carnival in the Asian style, celebrating the art of creating bright and memorable flavors from the simplest ingredients. "Indochina" brings this celebration within a civilized framework, creating a new format for accessible dining. As of the end of 2021, there are three "Indochina" stalls: one at DEPO, one at the Central Market, and one at the Usachevsky Market.
