Dedi

"Dedi," translated from Georgian, means "mommy," and at "Dedi," they prepare authentic Georgian cuisine using time-honored family recipes.

"Dedi," located at 5 Dmitri Ulianov Street, is a new project from the owners of the "Yuzhnoe" cafe, who have been delighting guests with Georgian hospitality and national dishes for 12 years. The menu, created by chef Mamuka Bodjgua, features dishes prepared according to ancient and family Georgian recipes. The name of the restaurant was chosen deliberately: in Georgian, "Dedi" means "mommy," perfectly reflecting the homey and traditional aspects of the project.

Specifically for "Dedi's" guests, chef Mamuka Bodjgua uses authentic Megrelian and Imeretian cheeses, Megrelian pepper, adjika, and spices sourced and prepared in Georgia according to ancient recipes, using salt from Svaneti and drops of mountain water.

The restaurant offers a selection of homemade Georgian wines served in clay jugs, golden and silver chacha (Georgian brandy) served in frozen glasses to ensure it's colder than ice, and traditional natural lemonades.

The cozy and minimalist interior of the renovated restaurant has been enhanced with more greenery, warm colors, and ethnic decor. Clay vessels, patterned cushions, and live plants create a special atmosphere, complementing the hospitality and warmth. A real carved fireplace has become a focal point, symbolizing home and hearth. A separate hall is available for private parties and family celebrations. From Thursday to Saturday evenings, the fireplace is lit, and musicians are invited. The restaurant plans to host dinners with the chef, featuring a generous Georgian feast with Mamuka Bodjgua, and a special tasting menu introducing guests to Georgian cuisine. In warm weather, guests are invited to the outdoor terrace, where they can enjoy a pleasant time while savoring authentic Georgian specialties.
