About
"Baran-Rapan" is a restaurant specializing in innovative Black Sea cuisine. Chef Andrei Gryazev is responsible for the restaurant's innovations and updated menu, having trained under both of his predecessors since the restaurant's inception. The history of "Baran-Rapan" spans nine years and two distinct eras, each led by chefs Andrei Kolodyazhny and Valery Poryadin. Each chef brought their own experience and culinary vision to the restaurant, complementing each other and shaping the restaurant into what it is known for today. Chef Andrei Gryazev has taken over, further delving into local flavors and developing the restaurant's culinary identity in his own unique way. Today, "Baran-Rapan" continues to offer "bold, delicious, and honest" cuisine. In 2023, "Baran-Rapan" was recognized as the Best Restaurant in Southern Russia by the independent "Where To Eat" awards.
The space of "Baran-Rapan" is thematically divided: the first floor is designed for everyday dining, while the second floor, "A New Chapter at Baran-Rapan," is a unique space for special occasions. The first floor features ample natural light and a relaxed atmosphere, with a bar offering cocktails made with local fruits and herbs. The second floor retains its elegance while incorporating trendy design elements and a curated menu. The wine list for both floors, featuring honest prices (with minimal markup) and a wide selection of rare wines, was curated by head sommelier Maxim Kochnev, who has been recognized as the Best Sommelier of Southern Russia three times by the "Where To Eat" awards.
