Roman ZernovCommunity profile

Roman Zernov was born and raised in the Moscow region, in the city of Sergiev Posad. Roman began his career early – after graduating from school, he received an offer to work in the kitchen of one of the restaurants in his hometown, and this marked the beginning of his journey in the world of gastronomy. In 2017, Roman Zernov moved to Moscow and joined 15 Kitchen+Bar. This project gave the chef his first significant experience working in a restaurant in the capital. In early 2019, he became part of the team at "Inostrantsy," where he met Australian chef Tom Halpin, with whom he later had the opportunity to work closely on another project. Later, Roman moved to the city of Sochi to try his hand at the renowned "Baran-Rapan" restaurant. Upon returning to Moscow, Roman joined the "Dom Kul'tur" project, where he worked for the first time as a sous chef. In October 2021, he was offered a position as sous chef at the newly opening Maya restaurant (Lucky Group), led by Australian chef Tom Halpin. Building everything from scratch, recruiting staff, and establishing work processes in the kitchen – all of this provided Roman Zernov with a unique experience in management. In 2022, Roman was invited to Rocky 2 as a sous chef, where he worked for almost a year. Currently, Roman Zernov is the head chef at the Moró restaurant. Roman appreciates it when the kitchen is well-organized and each member of the team clearly understands and fulfills their role. He strives to constantly develop and experiment with different culinary styles.
