About
Igor Kokoulin's journey began in 2012, when, at the age of 18, he decided to work as a bartender at a popular bar in Beverly Hills. The bar featured a standing bar, over 100 cocktails on the menu, and a team with experience from established bars, from whom Igor gained his initial experience. It was there that he first met Olga Pakhtusova, who is now the manager of the Bijou bar. Later, Igor worked in various cafes, restaurants, and clubs, including Brodo and "Dom Kul'tur." At the latter, he rose to the position of senior bartender and tried to gain valuable experience from each place, from service protocols to product handling. "I owe a great deal of gratitude to Nikita Dorovskikh (of Lobby) for giving me the opportunity and resources to develop. However, Olga Pakhtusova helped me, and continues to help me, to become a good bar manager, despite my previous experience." After that, Igor tried his hand at other fields, such as advertising, screenwriting courses, and filmmaking, but ultimately, he always returned to working in bars. Igor's time at the French bar Bijou, located on Mendeleevskaya Street, began in 2020, when Olga invited him for an interview. Igor worked at Bijou for three years, witnessing the bar's relocation to Belorusskaya Street, and always tried to contribute to the creation of new cocktails. In 2023, Igor was promoted to head bartender. In his work, Igor Kokoulin particularly enjoys creating and offering guests a quality product. As for cocktails, he prefers drinks that are not overly sour or sweet, because everything should be in balance, according to Igor. Therefore, his choices often include Scotch and vodka with soda, or a dry martini.
