About
Anna and Andreas Widmann (the eighth generation of the family at the helm) have two restaurants, and this is the fine dining option. In the oldest part of Widmann's Löwen – where the village butcher's shop used to be – this small restaurant combines warm wood and a minimalist, contemporary style to create a tasteful, sophisticated ambience. In the kitchen, traditional Swabian fare meets fine dining. Sourced from local growers and producers, premium ingredients are used in dishes brimming with creativity, flavour and original ideas. There is a regularly changing set menu featuring five or seven courses, according to the seasons, also available in a vegetarian version. Service is attentive, as you enjoy dishes such as "crayfish from Seefeld with asparagus and XO sauce" or "matured Ostalb lamb with green asparagus, quinoa and gremolata". Each course is accompanied by the perfect wine pairing – Anna Widmann is not only a charming hostess but also a sommelier and the force behind the carefully curated wine list. There are also guestrooms for an overnight stay, plus a shop selling dishes and delicatessen wares to enjoy later.
