About
In Georgia, you don't need a special occasion to celebrate – every home is ready to celebrate life, because true happiness lies in a hearty meal shared with family and close friends.
"Tsitsila" has been open for ten years, and the restaurant continues to thrive, located in the heart of the city, yet feeling like a secluded spot outside the city, near a nature reserve or park. It's one of the most beloved places for those who appreciate authentic Georgian cuisine, where it's especially enjoyable to gather with the whole family around a large table laden with traditional dishes prepared in the authentic style of Tbilisi, Batumi, and Kutaisi. In Georgia, you don't need a special occasion to celebrate – every home is ready to celebrate life, because true happiness lies in a hearty meal shared with family and close friends, and sometimes even with unexpected guests who happen to be at the table, raising a glass of chacha in a gesture of warm hospitality. The table is always filled with spinach, beetroot, and bell pepper pkhali, eggplant rolls with a walnut filling (known as "badrijani" in Georgia), an assortment of Georgian cheeses, khachapuri baked in a wood-fired oven, and meat grilled over charcoal with plenty of fresh herbs and vegetables, as well as khinkali dumplings with various fillings, which are eaten by hand, held by the "tail" and savored with slurps as the broth is consumed. And of course, the shelves are always stocked with Saperevi, Kindzmarauli, Khvanchkara, Shavkapito, Mukuzani, Chaveri, Usakhelauri, and Rkatsiteli – the most important Georgian wines! The chef at "Tsitsila" is Mamuka Bodjgua, who is rightfully among the top ten chefs in Tbilisi and is known for his work at restaurants like "Dadiani," "Sahli," and "Kazbek." From a young age, he immersed himself in the art of preparing traditional dishes, and now he delights Moscow's residents with authentic cuisine, using only Georgian spices and selecting the finest Megrelian and Imeretian cheeses and matsoni for his creations. The menu combines a fresh perspective on traditional recipes with classic Georgian dishes, reflecting the Georgian people's passion for feasting. In the appetizer section, you'll find gebjalia (580 rubles) alongside adzhapsandali (690 rubles), chicken satsebili (640 rubles) with chicken pate and tomato jam (500 rubles). Khachapuri from the Imeretian region (680 rubles), Adjarian style (590 rubles), Lazur (710 rubles), and many other traditional variations are made with sulguni cheese from time-tested Imeretian dairies. The hot appetizer section features the popular elarji (580 rubles), mchadi with cheese and herbs (520 rubles), mamaliga (350 rubles), and kharkalia (570 rubles). The grill offers lule kebab (from 600 rubles) and shashlik (from 820 rubles), while the main courses include chashushuli (920 rubles), kuchmachi (620 rubles), and three types of ojakhuri (from 680 rubles). A special section of the menu is dedicated to "tsitsila" – a young chicken (up to 5 months old) with tender meat and milk-fed bones: you'll find stuffed tsitsila (1200 rubles) and tsitsila in the Chkmeruli style (1100 rubles), tsitsila soup (710 rubles), and tsitsila in the Megrelian style (810 rubles) with a baje sauce. For dessert, there's a chocolate-honey zgapari (460 rubles), kidobani (590 rubles), churchkhela (190 rubles), and the restaurant's signature dessert made with matsoni, tarragon, and pelamushi – "The Land of Georgia" (750 rubles). The wine list features both traditional Georgian wines and selections from renowned producers like Askaneli Brothers, Chateau Mukhrani, Marani, and Besini, which combine centuries of tradition with modern technology to offer unique wines, both red ("black" as they are called in Georgia) and white. The interior of the restaurant was designed by Vera Tatarinova, known for her work on restaurants like "Uilliam's," "MariVanna" in the USA, "Ponton," and "Bono." Numerous details create a cozy atmosphere with a Georgian touch – the architecture of old Tbilisi is reflected in the design: hanging shelves, wine vessels, greenery in pots, wood, soft sofas, flowing curtains, and plenty of space, all inviting you to linger and explore. In addition to the main dining room, there's a "winter garden" – a series of gazebos that form a beautifully framed entrance to the park, with a straight path leading to the Mosfilmovsky pond. These gazebos are year-round verandas with a special atmosphere: decorated in light colors, with plenty of natural light, white curtains, and a cozy interior, they create a sense of timelessness, making it almost impossible to leave. Yes, sometimes all you need to truly relax and recharge is to be in a place where hospitality harmoniously blends with nature!
