ABOUT THE RESTAURANT "Rusalochka" is a typical Japanese street cafe, characterized by minimalist design, and its philosophy is based on an honest approach to the product, with a perfect balance of quality and price. "Rusalochka Sushi" is a challenge to everything that currently exists in the Japanese cuisine scene in Moscow. The project creators are confident that delicious, fresh food can be accessible. The atmosphere of a city eatery, located right on a bustling street in Tokyo or Nagoya, is strongly felt in "Rusalochka," with a hostess in the dining area, a chef behind the sushi counter, and a very simple menu. Neon lights, graffiti, rows of lamps, bamboo thickets, and cherry blossoms – all of this is inspiration from the streets, which formed the basis of the interior designed by Yova Yager. The designer also incorporated an open sushi counter with a bar where you can sit on a Japanese beer crate, enjoy gunkan sushi, and admire the hieroglyphs on the walls. Experts in Japanese calligraphy can appreciate the humor of the project creators, who were inspired by tattoo enthusiasts who, out of ignorance, apply symbols to their bodies that often have strange meanings. "Japanese Synthesizer" and "Wash Your Hands Before Eating" are among the most harmless of these. The seemingly typical Japanese imagery, upon closer inspection, makes you smile, and this is a conscious choice by the creators of the bold "Rusalochka." Here, everything is a joke, except for the food. The menu is extremely democratic, but the quality and freshness of the ingredients, which are the most important aspects of Japanese cuisine, remain top-notch. "Rusalochka Sushi" is a joint project of restaurateurs Dmitry Levitsky and Gosha Karpenko. Alexander Kim, who has experience working at Nobu, "Peking Duck," and "Tanuki," has taken on the position of head chef.
