About

A restaurant woven from emotions, textile heritage, and avant-garde. A space where local meanings and southern emotions converge, blending the textile identity of Ivanov with the culinary poetry of Italy.

In early 2025, a new name appeared on the Ivanov restaurant scene: MIA, an Italian restaurant that not only opened its doors to guests but also seamlessly integrated into the city's cultural landscape. The restaurant's concept is to create a space where local meanings and southern emotions intertwine, combining the textile heritage of Ivanov with the culinary artistry of Italy. This is not a stylistic imitation, but a delicate dialogue between cultures. Every element of the interior is carefully designed to create an atmosphere of warmth, comfort, and understated elegance. The restaurant is filled with decorative elements made from fabric: patchwork panels and cushions, while the familiar cardboard coasters for glasses are made from cotton. One entire wall is covered in a textile panel using mixed techniques, creating a sense of living art and emphasizing the combination of regional traditions and new forms.

The menu features familiar Italian dishes with a unique twist, prepared with respect for the classics. Fresh, handmade pasta is a star – "pasta fresca," crafted daily from Italian soft wheat flour in various shapes. The pizza is made with a thin, crispy crust from the same flour. The presentation of the dishes evokes the spirit of traditional trattorias: simple, generous, and with attention to detail. The wine list focuses on Italian indigenous grape varieties, and also includes excellent Russian wines. At MIA, desserts are a ritual in themselves. We have curated 13 iconic flavors that capture the essence of Italy: light, crispy, rich, infused with sunshine and tradition.

The avant-garde is evident in the menu design and branding – Italian expressiveness meets the graphic sensibility of Ivanov. Pasta transforms into graphic elements, and the visual language draws inspiration from the constructivist textile motifs of artist Varvara Stepanova.

This is a place where emotions are on the plate, history is in the decor, and the dining experience evokes that special feeling of wanting to slow down and simply be present. It embodies the Italian philosophy of living in the moment, savoring the experience, and not postponing joy.
