Start your evening with a walk around the octagonal Lille Lungegårdsvannet lake, then head for the KODE 4 art museum where you can dine looking back over the water. Larger than life chef-owner Christopher Haatuft passionately oversees the whole place, both serving dishes and engaging with guests – and while it’s certainly a smart place, the atmosphere remains pleasingly relaxed thanks to his cheery nature. Dishes are informed by Norwegian produce and recipes, with an added modern touch; you’ll find the likes of bluefin tuna crudo with beetroot, tiger’s milk, horseradish and phytoplankton oil.
