La Vie Aquatique

A vibrant bar with an "aquatic life" theme, featuring signature cocktails and Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

La Vie Aquatique, located at 5 Bolshoy Putinkov Street, is the seventh project from Vasilisa Volkova, the founder of "S.I.D.R. Group," and the first in partnership with Andrey Kornilov, the holding's head bartender. The new bar, reminiscent of a Wes Anderson film set, promises an exciting underwater adventure. Guests are immersed in the atmosphere by a cheerful crew dressed in nautical-themed pajamas and red beanies. A mandatory part of the crew's attire is a necklace worn to hold sparkling wine corks – and there's plenty of sparkling wine here. It's available both on its own and in cocktails: the bar menu, created by Andrey Kornilov, clearly references the Mediterranean with its light, refreshing drinks featuring fruity notes. The "aquatic life" theme is further explored through a small but classic menu created by chef Nikolai Bakunov. The menu includes oysters, scallops, octopus with potatoes, salmon tartare, shrimp in cream sauce, pasta or risotto with clams – approximately 20 dishes are prepared in the open kitchen. Guests primarily enjoy their drinks and food at the central bar, where the countertop facing the guests is heated, while the side for the bartenders features special pockets for crushed ice, used to chill bottles and seafood. The fantastical underwater world in the interior was created by designer Katya Korchinova. Mosaic-covered columns depicting mermaids and a scuba diver swimming by, shell-shaped tiles, a contrasting combination of blue and coral, and a neon net on the ceiling create an atmosphere that makes you want to settle down and stay a while. And perhaps return again. In the summer, the party moves from the "submarine" to the inner courtyard, easily accessible by stepping through the frame of the panoramic windows.
