About
A Spanish-Portuguese restaurant from Folk Team, located in a historic Moscow mansion dating back to 1903. Traditional dishes reimagined by Michelin-starred chef Adrian Quetglas.
Padron is the first independent project of the Folk Team creative collective, founded by Dmitry Romanov and Veniamin Ivanov. The restaurant and bar feature original design inspired by cultural traditions and the aesthetics of Gaudí. The cuisine focuses on Spanish and Portuguese dishes, crafted by Michelin-starred chef Adrian Quetglas (Adrian Quetglas restaurant, Spain). The gastronomic concept of Padron is based on a wide selection of steaks, a dedicated dry-aging chamber, and large wood-fired ovens, where signature dishes and bestsellers are prepared: "arroz a la llauna" (rice dish), Chateaubriand, and Portuguese-style octopus. Notable specialties include Argentinian shrimp carpaccio with fennel and passion fruit oil, Spanish tortilla with ham, "pastel de nata" desserts, and a Basque cheesecake with Gorgonzola. The cocktail menu features a curated collection of authentic and original creations inspired by the specialties of the Iberian Peninsula. The wine list, curated by Folk Team's head sommelier Artem Samoylov, offers 300 wines, half of which are from Spain and Portugal, including rare vintages from 1931. A central hearth, where wood is burning, divides the space into two sections: a meat area and a seafood area. Meat is cooked and rested on adjustable-height grills, while fish is prepared using various methods, such as on skewers, in ovens, or whole over charcoal. The fire area of Padron extends to cast-iron wood-fired ovens, where dishes are grilled, braised, and baked, ensuring the embers remain lit even at night. A large chef's table surrounding the kitchen provides a unique gastronomic experience. The entire restaurant, with its exposed brickwork, columns with iron rivets, and a ceiling with gold accents framed by wide wooden beams, exudes a vibrant atmosphere with subtle national flair. This is reflected in the curves of the vintage furniture, the patterns of the fabrics, and the color combinations. The large communal table, with its shapes and textures, evokes the central square designed by the great Antoni Gaudí, while the balcony bathed in light, with its panoramic windows overlooking Strastnoy Boulevard and streetlights, is reminiscent of Barcelona's Rambla. The layout of the space, which previously housed the first Bocconcino restaurant, allowed the creators to develop a unique concept: a restaurant with a separate bar entrance. The bar continues the story, with vaulted ceilings adorned with Portuguese "azulejo" tiles depicting the production of port wine, and a bright yellow island serving as the bar counter, designed to resemble a Lisbon tram that runs through the historic center of Portugal's capital.
