About
The emotion begins along the approach, between vineyards, cypress trees and olive groves that compose the landscape of the most classic Tuscan countryside, culminating in the dramatic arrival before the imposing Castello Banfi, of medieval origin. The restaurant fits naturally into this setting of great evocativeness, recognisable also through the wine-themed frescoes that decorate the interior rooms. When the weather allows it, however, the terrace is the privileged space: here the panorama, attentive service and the quality of the cuisine combine to create a memorable experience. In the kitchen, chef Domenico Francone, originally from Puglia, with a measured hand introduces touches of his homeland, from taralli to small, flavourful panzerotti. The offering is articulated across three tasting menus that speak of philosophy, territory and a particular attentiveness to the plant world. A well-calibrated selection of desserts brings the meal to a fine close, between indulgence and lightness: among them, the milk foam with toffee caramel and peanuts stands out for its balance and pleasantness.
