It is a real pleasure to see the terrific produce gracing the plates here at Gutsküche, just outside Hamburg – this is seasonal gastronomy par excellence! Organic ingredients from their own estate, Hofgut Wulksfelde, are the absolute focal point of the cooking, with the blackboard menu presenting vegetarian dishes that can be supplemented with so-called fish, poultry and meat "side dishes". "Wulksfelde herb salad, smoked fresh goat's cheese, rhubarb salsa, aigre-doux red onions" is a shining example, with its outstanding interplay of sweet, sour and bitter notes. Tip: Light bites and fine provisions at GutsDeli, plus organic produce at the on-site farm shop. In summer: organic ice cream in the lovely GutsGarten.
