2026 is already penned in ink as the 40th anniversary of the year in which the Roca brothers opened the doors of this famed restaurant. They describe themselves as an “equilateral triangle that encompasses the three sides of gastronomy” and like to say that their luck is down to the balance struck in a metaphorical “game of three players”, with Joan in charge of savoury dishes, Josep as the sommelier and Jordi on dessert duty. Whatever their approach, the essence of their cuisine is to enable guests to experience enjoyment through their eyes, palate and every other sense as part of a spiral of sensations. Their cuisine, which always begins with spectacular appetisers as a tribute to their most emblematic dishes, is truly exceptional and is accompanied by a plethora of contrasts, memories and travel experiences, along with a continual commitment to the environment which sees them working with local ingredients, taking a stand against the challenges of climate change, and raising awareness. Be warned – there's a long waiting list!
