The cosy modern interior immediately makes you feel at home, as does chef Nicolas Michiels, visible in his open kitchen. This is just the spot for food that smacks of nostalgia and first-class handiwork, all of which at bargain prices (don’t forget to book!). The chef not only knows how to concoct proper sauces and to grill meat to perfection, he also reveals an unorthodox streak. An example: a large slice of seabass may be paired with al dente veggie spaghetti, a hollandaise sauce and a subtly vibrant red butter sauce. Choosing from the extensive menu may pose something of a conundrum. Why not try one of the excellent whiskeys suggested by the chef at the end of your meal?
