A celebrated food shop with an adjoining trattoria, situated just beyond the western edge of the city, boasting over 125 years of history and a loyal following that ensures it is constantly frequented: booking is recommended. The surroundings are simple and rustic, with the option of sitting at the small tables near the entrance, beside the counters displaying charcuterie and cheeses, the protagonists – alongside crostini – of the starters. The cooking, entirely consistently, is traditional and Tuscan, with particular emphasis on meats, offered both braised and grilled (the bistecca fiorentina is, of course, a constant). Noteworthy, finally, is the wine selection: broad, well structured and curated directly by the owner Andrea, who regularly organises themed tasting evenings.
