About
Small, essential and free from affectation, this is a true declaration of love for Piedmont, interpreted with authenticity and excellent quality. The closely set tables, overlooking the central Via Accademia Albertina, create a lively and informal atmosphere, ideal for savouring regional specialities, with the occasional interesting foray beyond the region. Such is the case, for example, with the fresh chitarra pasta with cream of tomato, pecorino, pepper and crispy guanciale, sampled during the warmer season. Among the main courses, meat predominates – well represented and of quality – while the cheese selection proves solid and well considered. To close, the desserts offer a sweet and characterful finale: from the classic panna cotta to the bonet, through to more original variations such as the mountain lavender panna cotta, wryly renamed “lavanda gastrica”.
