"RestoratorShef" about the project: Dmitry Sokolov's Caribbean tiki bar (Mr. Help & Friends Bar, Stay True Bar, Law&son) opened in the summer on the Garden Ring, just a short walk from Delicatessen. This time, the renowned bartender has fully embraced the island theme, or, as the creator of the concept puts it, the history of Irish settlements in Barbados and Jamaica. "Black Hat," translated from island slang, means "have a blast" or "cutila," and everything else follows suit – from the interior, resembling a beachcomber's hut with carved wood, bamboo screens, a boat, and shark jaws as decorative elements, to the menu, which plays on the idea of an Irish pub in Jamaica, and the cocktail list, where rum is the star of the show, with its impressive collection proudly displayed behind the bar. A separate page of the menu is dedicated to rums from all over the world, which can be explored like a guide, allowing for endless comparative tastings (190-590 rubles per serving). As expected, cocktails are served in tiki glasses, and the exclusive collection of these glasses is another source of pride for Sokolov. His signature style is reflected in the pricing, which starts at 350 rubles for a well-crafted mix, a factor that certainly adds to the appeal of the place. The food menu offers a decent selection, including seafood tomato soup with rum and Jamaican spices (380 rubles), Irish stew with three types of meat (620 rubles), slow-cooked beef ribs (890 rubles), and a variety of poke bowls. Poke bowls with different fillings (octopus tentacles, black tuna, Sakhalin shrimp, or tofu) can be served on rice, bulgur, quinoa, or noodles – and the idea of a customizable dish (priced from 390 rubles for the vegetarian option to 490 rubles for the shrimp version) feels perfectly appropriate here. The average bill is 1500 rubles.
