1870 Abrau-Durso Wine & Food

About

The flagship restaurant of Black Sea cuisine, 1870 Abrau-Durso Wine & Food, is a two-story space that combines a restaurant, a wine boutique, a historical gallery, and a tasting room.

A flagship restaurant of Black Sea cuisine, 1870 Abrau-Durso Wine & Food, has opened on Arbat. The two-story space combines a gastronomic restaurant where wine and food are a harmonious duet, a wine boutique, a historical gallery of the Russian wine house "Abrau-Durso," and an interactive tasting room.

In 2020, the Russian wine house "Abrau-Durso" celebrated its anniversary: for 150 years, excellent sparkling and still wines have been produced on the shores of the emerald lake of Abrau. Today, "Abrau-Durso" is a premium wine with a unique style, Black Sea specialties, and an amazing atmosphere. The Moscow restaurant 1870 Abrau-Durso Wine & Food is the third one in Russia: one is successfully operating in Gelendzhik, and the second is in Novorossiysk. The flagship project, which opened on Arbat, combines local gastronomy of the Black Sea coast, a wine boutique, a professional tasting space, and a gallery of historical artifacts of "Abrau-Durso."

The wine collection of "Abrau-Durso" is the heart of the project. The pride of the Russian wine house is the sparkling wines of the Victor Dravigny, Brut d'Or, and "Imperial" collections, which have been repeatedly awarded international prizes, as well as the Abrau-Durso Reserve wines, which are perfect for a sophisticated evening or a special occasion. Other gems of the "Abrau-Durso" collection are also highly regarded: aged single-varietal wines from the premium collection, as well as blends in the modern style of Abrau Estates. Guests can sample exclusive wines from the "Vedernikov Winery," which is part of the "Abrau-Durso" group of companies, made from indigenous grape varieties of the Don region. For fans of cocktails, the bar offers signature mixes based on sparkling wine, as well as creative non-alcoholic drinks. All dishes on the menu are perfectly paired with the wines, and the waiters and sommeliers will help you make the right choice.

The menu is inspired by Black Sea products. Guests can try the legendary rapan (a type of shellfish), fresh mussels, herring pate, crispy mini-chebureks, and much more. The head chef is Pavel Tarasov ("Far East," White Cafe, Siberia Moscow, "Ryba Moya"). You can start your meal with a trio of pates: duck with orange jam, turkey with green butter, and chicken with raspberries. Those who enjoy appetizers should try the refreshing gazpacho with crab, and for the main course, you can choose beef cheeks in wine sauce, crispy hake with pickle sauce, or fish and chips with cod. For dessert, there is a signature honey cake with fragrant southern honey and ice cream, or a caramel "Napoleon."

"Every dish we serve has an authentic Black Sea touch," says Pavel Tarasov. "I recommend trying the homemade fettuccine with rapan – a signature dish of the southern coast. This dish combines rapan meat with langoustines, and ripe tomatoes are complemented by a fragrant sesame dressing."

The interior of the restaurant features references to the Black Sea coast: green plants and turquoise accents in the decor and tableware evoke the warm, azure waves. A striking detail is the central chandelier made of champagne glasses; the other chandeliers in the form of rings symbolize the play of bubbles. The color of champagne – a light gold – is reflected in the bar counter. Those who want to sample the wines can choose to sit in the main hall, which is ideal for large groups, or in the more intimate VIP rooms.

Next to the restaurant is a wine boutique where you can find the entire collection of sparkling and still wines from the Russian wine house "Abrau-Durso," as well as products from the wineries "Usadba Perovskikh," "Vedernikov Winery," Château de Talu, and imported products from brands such as Freixenet, Mionetto, Henkell, Törley, and others. Here you can buy sparkling wines produced using the classic method and the Charmat method, as well as still wines and other alcoholic beverages. The boutique also features non-alcoholic lines from "Abrau-Durso": the "4 Vody Abrau-Durso" mineral water, the Abrau Junior children's drink, and the Abrau Vinonade collection of refreshing drinks. It is in this boutique that all the new products from the Russian wine house first appear.

At the 1870 Abrau-Durso Wine & Food restaurant, guests can enjoy a diverse and enriching experience: you can savor delicious gastronomic pairings from the chef and sommelier, visit the historical gallery of the Russian wine house "Abrau-Durso," sign up for a tasting, order a signature cocktail or a glass of wine, and purchase your favorite bottle in the wine boutique.
