About
Gilberto was born in Lebanon. His father is an engineer, and his mother is an Italian fashion designer. He comes from a large family with many siblings.
From a young age, Gilberto has loved delicious food – cooking, experimenting, and mixing spices. He dreamed of becoming a chef from childhood.
Gilberto's mother always told him that the most important thing in his future profession was to never give up. He shouldn't get discouraged if something didn't work out or wasn't tasty, because being a chef is a challenging profession, and to master it, one must always continue to experiment.
After school, Gilberto immediately enrolled in culinary school at Sagesse College, and later at the CIT (Centre International des Sciences techniques) university. He earned two degrees – in Eastern and European cuisine, which helped him find work in international hotels and restaurants.
Gilberto gained valuable experience from chefs from all over the world, working in Italian, French, Mexican, Portuguese, and Eastern cuisines. He participated in the New Millennium Awards Spain competition in 2010, where his team received a gold medal.
Gilberto first came to St. Petersburg in 2006, and then returned in 2012, learning Russian and staying to work there. He has traveled to various regions of Russia, from Surgut to the Altai region.
In 2012, he watched the TV show "Hell's Kitchen," and dreamed of participating in it. Although he didn't get to be on the show, in 2020, Gilberto joined the team of Aram Mnatsakanov and became the brand chef of two Italo-Lebanese restaurants, Mina, in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
