He began his career at the restaurant "Palkin." He developed dietary menus based on the "Pierre Dukan Diet" principles in collaboration with Michelin-starred chef Evgeny Vikentiev. He worked with Evgeny Vikentiev at the restaurant "Mapuche." He co-founded the "Amo Cucinare" project with Italian chef Claudio Di Bernardo. He served as a nutritionist for the Russian national youth sailing team. Currently, Denis Laptev is the head chef of his own restaurant, Flor.
He was born in St. Petersburg in a military family. He studied at the College of Tourism and Hospitality, graduating as a cook-technologist-pastry chef, 5th grade.
