关于

“Censorship IN1:1" is a conceptually new "to go" establishment. Our café concept is built upon Russian culture and traditions, synthesizing modernity with the spirit of the Russian nobility. Our menu is often described as unusual or atypical for a Moscow café; the reason lies in Russian cuisine, presented in an authorial interpretation. "Lo-mot and Butter" is our answer to burgers and sandwiches. Our most filling menu items are served on soft potato bread with a crispy crust. Viewing classic Russian drinks from a different angle, we created the "Just Cocktails" section, where you can find sbiten, compote, and kissel in surprising combinations—even for themselves. "Coffee Cocktails" will even surprise the most dedicated coffee lovers. Here, coffee is decolorized, butter is added to a bubble, and white mushrooms and parmesan are used in a raf. If you crave something simple and understandable, try our teas brought from Krasnodar, which still hold the scent of the fields and the warmth of the scorching sun. Or try our "Tea Cocktails" with berries and herbs. Only Russian-language music plays in our establishment, including Russian neo-classical works. On our shelves, we feature little-known local brands that create stunning, talented, and interesting products. We host discussion clubs (literary, historical, French) united by a single theme: pre-revolutionary Russia. We also love celebrating the birthdays of poets and writers by adding their favorite dishes to the menu. Located on Triumph Square, our neighbor is Vladimir Mayakovsky; therefore, when speaking about Russian culture and traditions (which we love with all our hearts), we pay great attention to literature. Initially, we built our concept on contrasts and antitheses—for example, a small space that was always "to go," yet served quite substantial takeaway dishes (such as beef braised in wine). The name "Censorship" and the reference "IN1:1" already represent a juxtaposition, as it alludes to the New Testament's "In the beginning was the Word" (+ the Gospel, as we know, formed the basis for plots and imagery in Russian literature). The font references the Izvestia building on Pushkin Square (one of the main censors of its time); for that building, the "House of Famusov" was demolished. Additionally, there is a panel featuring Zamiatin's text "We" (one of the first works to fall under Soviet censorship and yet bypass it by being printed in another language). Even the Russian-language music and ingredients in our drinks all have a small story. We live with our own character—somewhat bold, somewhat contradictory, yet leaving a mark on hearts. Therefore, above the entrance to our café, there is a sign reading "Coffee with a Russian character."
