It's hard not to love Walnut Tree; it's got a cosy, open-fired bar, a dining room adorned with colourful art, and owners who run it with heart and soul. Shaun Hill, the quintessential chef’s chef, has amassed years of experience at the stoves and it shows in his great understanding of flavours and balance. Expect to find classical and modern elements blended seamlessly across his no-frills dishes, often utilising top-quality fish – such as the meaty, perfectly cooked turbot with lardons, pearl onions and an intense Bordelaise sauce. The muscat crème caramel is a great way to finish.
