The Tourist Trap

What a cool setting this is! On the upper deck of a historical museum ship moored on the Neckar River, this stylish space is imbued with vintage flair. The vibe is fresh, youthful and relaxed. Windows on all sides afford fantastic views, and in fine weather guests can sit out on the open deck. Dennis Maier, who most recently earned a MICHELIN star for Mannheim's Emma Wolf since 1920, has transformed the museum ship from the "tourist trap" (that inspired the name) into a culinary hotspot. He and his accomplished kitchen team serve two seven-course set menus (one of which is vegetarian), plus a number of little extras. The modern, seasonal dishes are inventive, technically precise and packed with flavour. Menu prices vary according to the day of the week. Guests simply dropping by for a glass of wine can order small bites from the "Munchies" menu. On Sundays, the three-course "Easy Sunday Menu" is available from 1pm. Tip: From 6pm, you can park for free near the jetty in the MVV car park.
